Civil And Environmental

Hughes Trueman provides coordinated services for the masterplanning and design of water supply, stormwater, sewerage, roads and inground services for some of the largest projects in Australia. These include urban redevelopment projects, residential developments, sport and leisure facilities, educational complexes and commercial and industrial parks.

We have particularly strong experience in transportation infrastructure, including roads, railways, traffic control, and concrete, steel and timber bridges. We also design new road and railway bridges and refurbish existing bridges to suit the next generation of transport. Software used for road design includes MOSS, CivilCAD and AutoCAD.
 

Heritage & Conservation

The community is coming to realise the value of Australia's built heritage including industrial sites, landmark buildings and other works of engineering excellence from previous eras. Hughes Trueman has amassed extensive experience in heritage engineering, and works closely with heritage authorities and architects in a manner sympathetic to the ideals of conservation. Hydraulic & Fire Services

Specialist building hydraulics and fire protection staff are distributed throughout Hughes Trueman's offices so that integrated design teams can be formed to suit project locations.

Our hydraulic designers have extensive experience in all facets of design including residential, commercial and high rise hydraulics, sanitary drainage and plumbing, water supply and reticulation and large scale irrigation works, as well as specialist hydraulic projects such as water features. The fire protection team works closely with hydraulic and other services, applying the latest innovations in fire engineering to optimise design.

The firm designs intensively serviced facilities such as hospitals and laboratories, dealing with various grades of water supply, disposal and treatment of wastes, and the provision of medical, laboratory and industrial gases. Fire protection systems for warehousing, dangerous goods and heritage structures offer special challenges which require tailored solutions, and we apply the latest innovations in fire engineering to optimise design for these projects.
 

Industrial

Hughes Trueman has been providing services to the manufacturing and bulk materials handling industries for many years. We have designed facilities for companies processing coal, oil, sugar, wheat and rice, as well as companies operating in pharmaceutical and biotechnological production, locomotive manufacture and food processing.

Our designs include silos, bins, conveyors and associated towers, buildings and warehouses, and we have specialist skills in high stack warehousing and ultra flat floors. We also provide masterplanning and design for all site infrastructure.
 

Integrated Services

Having structural, civil and hydraulic engineers in the one company allows Hughes Trueman to provide an integrated service to allow the controlled interaction of different elements of a project.  In many cases we are able to provide all three services for the one project.
 

Project Management

Our project management services include feasibility studies, planning and programming, design development, time and cost control, reporting and documentation, and construction management, as well as total project facilitation services. We have a reputation for managing projects to clients' time and budget criteria.

Our engineers are trained to develop environmentally sustainable design solutions which fully address the clients' need for financial viability and compliance with current environmental legislation. We provide the full range of environmental management services from impact assessments to management plans and detailed design.
 

Sydney Water Servicing Coordinators

Hughes Trueman is a fully accredited Sydney Water Water Servicing Coordinator. We are able to provide information to lodge Section 73 or related applications with Sydney Water and associated data exchange as the application progresses through the delivered infrastructure. In fact Hughes Trueman can cover all Sydney Water areas.

We can answer questions about your development on behalf of Sydney Water and can also facilitate the project management, design and construction of any required works. We can also provide information and data exchange services for developers where Sydney Water imposes no requirements, or where only minor works are involved. Hughes Trueman can stamp and approve your building plans on behalf of Sydney Water.

Transport Infrastructure

Hughes Trueman has vast experience in transport infrastructure including roads, railways, traffic control and concrete, steel and timber bridges. We design new road and railway bridges as well as refurbishment of existing bridges to suit the next generation of transport.

We have a close relationship with the Roads and Traffic Authority (RTA) and other private developers who need to upgrade roads within their development.

Our services include traffic analysis, route selection, concept design, traffic management, detailed design and documentation, and bridge and pavement design. We use MX, 12D, AutoCAD and Microstation software for road design and documentation. The output is compatible with, or convertible to, all road authorities' computer systems.
